Istanbul, Turkey – After spending the entire day in an airport and on an airplane with a four hour time change, the concern was that Team JBA USA was going to get jetlagged.

Nothing could have been further from the truth.

Behind Jordan Ray 47 points and 10 assists, Team JBA USA cruised to a 140-102 victory over Yesilyurt SK on Saturday evening at the Yesilyurt Arena in Istanbul, Turkey.

The victory extends JBA USA (12-2) winning streak to 11 games.

“At the end of the day it’s basketball,” Ray said. “It’s what I do. No inspiration. I just come out and play hard every game. I knew I had to come in and take a bigger role, but at the end of the day, I knew I was capable of it. I’m just proud I can step up for my team.”

JBA USA took the lead in the first 10 seconds of the game and never looked back thanks to Curtis Hollis triple double, 27 points, 11 assists, 11 rebounds and five steals for JBA USA while LiAngelo Ball scored 29 points to go with his seven assists.

“We just wanted to win,” Hollis said. “We want to finish with a winning streak by our Thanksgiving break. We have to keep playing together and keep winning. Obviously J-Ray stepped up in place of his best friend Melo. He’s doing his thing. Deon (Lyle) stepping up, Calvin (Brown) stepping up. Harrison (Rieger) went on his run and you can see the improvement in his game. Everybody playing together, everyone competing and just winning.”

With Je’rell Springer out until the end of November with a rib injury, Deon Lyle stepped in and scored 24 points with seven rebounds.

The sold out crowd were given a treat with a dunk contest from both teams, but the biggest one came from Melvin Davis early in the first quarter when he moved the backboard. The game would be delayed a few minutes to readjust it.

Davis grabbed eight rebounds with four blocks and four points for JBA USA.

Davis had a hard time against Yesilyurt SK big man Franke Yangue, who led his squad with 30 points and 16 rebounds. Yangue put on a slam dunk show for his fans.

“It was a good game with the fellas,” Yangue said. “They can get their shots and run the court. It was a good game for us and a good game for them. I really enjoyed it.”

Cem Efe Yuksel scored 20 points with seven boards for Yesilyurt. Ginay Yener scored 13 points with five assists, Samir Koc added 12 points and Sahin Kata added 13 assists, four steals with five points Yesilyurt.

Harrison Rieger scored seven points and eight rebounds and Calvin Brown grabbed nine rebounds with five assists and his two points for JBA USA, which will take on Sigortam.net ITU at the Sportingwork Sport Hall on Monday November, 12 in Istanbul, Turkey. Game time is set for 12:45 pm EST.
