JBA USA impresses Kanye West, extends winning streak in Belgium


Limburg, Belgium – The fans at the Sporthal Lakevelo Arena were expecting a fun high scoring game with JBA USA in their town.

They got their wish and got so much more.

In front of hip-hop superstar Kanye West, Team JBA USA defeated HUBO Limburg United Academy 163-138 on Tuesday night in Limburg, Belgium.

The victory extended JBA USA (9-2) winning streak to eight games.

LiAngelo Ball led JBA USA with 47 points to go along with his eight rebounds and seven assists. LaMelo Ball scored 25 points with 14 assists and nine boards while Je’rell Springer also scored 25 points to go with his six rebounds and Curtis Hollis scored 41 points with seven rebounds for Team JBA USA.

It was Hollis third straight 40 point game as he contributed in a fourth quarter filled with entertainment after Kanye West arrived late in third quarter.

“I just wanted to come out confident,” Gelo said. “I wanted to give our team a spark and get the win. We had great fans tonight. It was a great crowd that cheered on after every play. That got both teams going. That’s what kept causing the dunks. I didn’t expect Kanye to arrive, but that was dope. To look at the sideline and see Yeezy, that was cool.”

JBA USA outrebounded Limburg United 60-55. Limburg had 26 turnovers and seven steals to JBA USA nine turnovers and 26 steals.

Veteran star Dieter Souveryns led Limburg with 27 points to go with his eight rebounds, Nathan Kuta scored 20 points with 13 rebounds and eight assists, Chiel Koonings added 15 points with seven assists, Mattias Bovy added 12 points and six assists and Bejamin Bosmans-Verdonk and Killan Van Dan Langenberg each had 13 points for Limburg United.

Limburg led for only five minutes of the game, mainly in the first quarter, but it was all JBA USA the rest of the game as they were up as much as 28 points.

The third quarter turned into a three point contest with both teams scoring a combined 96 points in the quarter in which the game was stopped when Kanye West made a surprise appearance in the same quarter.

Servaas Buysschaert scored 24 points to go with his nine rebounds. Most of points came off of authoritative dunks, mainly in a fourth quarter where the fans were treated to a dunk contest from both teams with Kanye West at courtside seated next to JBA USA owner/General Manager Lavar Ball.

Deon Lyle scored nine points for JBA USA while Melvin Davis grabbed nine rebounds to go with his four points and Calvin Brown added four points and eight boards.

Jordan Ray scored six points and Harrison Rieger grabbed four rebounds with two points for JBA USA, which heads to London, England to take on the London Lions on Saturday, November 3rd. Game time is set for 11:00 am PST.
